Fraud takes many forms, but if you take the time to really think about it when someone is attempting to victimize you, you can often avoid being taken. Does whatever someone is telling you about an opportunity to make money sound like it makes sense? How would a Nigerian prince happen to get your e-mail anyway? Don’t be fooled by threats either. Millions – if not billions – of fraudulent e-mails have been sent that claim to be from the FBI or the IRS demanding that recipients send money. Pick up the phone and call to verify that some government agency is actually after you before you send anyone money.
