Yes, it’s the strong acid properties of vinegar that come into play once again, this time as a rust remover. For nuts and bolts that have become rusted with age, simply plop them in a container of vinegar and leave them for a few hours. That’s usually all it takes to strip off rust, and make those nuts and bolts usable once again. Be sure to rinse with water after they are removed from the vinegar so that it doesn’t continue to work its magic and dissolve the metal.
