5. Disable auto app updates
iOS keeps your phone updated in background for music and apps. The auto update feature is activated when you are connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data services. Though this is designed to happen without bugging the user, it consumes a considerable amount of power. So keep the auto update off and do it when your phone is plugged in.
