In addition to the uses of military drones most of us are already familiar with, the armed forces are also using them to transport equipment and supplies in war zones. Lockheed Martin’s K-MAX drones have already ferried about 4.5 million pounds of supplies to U.S. Marines operating in Afghanistan, replacing some 600 ground-based convoys which would have otherwise been used to move all that material.
