5. Depression
If you’re not convinced how important vitamin D is for overall good health, consider the fact that being too low on D can also affect your mood. It’s well-known that depression can accompany vitamin D deficiency, and overlooking that could result in treatment that is not really necessary, like taking antidepressants or other medications. It’s not yet understood how vitamin D influences mood but there’s no question that lacking vitamin D can have a very negative effect on your mood.
