We may not normally think of children when we think about serious depression, but depression is a real risk for kids. As many as 6 percent of them struggle with depression, and nearly 5 percent of children have major depression. Believe or not, pre-schoolers represent the fastest-growing market for antidepressant medications, and over a million kids are considered clinically depressed.
