This one is very easy and straightforward. Simply hold the diamond up to your mouth and exhale on it like you would if you were attempting to clean your eyeglasses or fog up a window. If the surface of the stone remains fogged up for a several seconds, it is probably a fake. A genuine diamond will dissipate the heat from your breath rapidly, and will only stay fogged for a second or two. It’s best to also have access to a diamond you know is genuine so you can compare how long they remain fogged up.
