8. Giraffe
We all recognize giraffes for their incredibly long necks, which makes it easy for them to reach all that choice vegetation on trees that other animals cannot reach. In stark contrast to humans who are pretty much helpless without their parents for years, a baby giraffe can typically stand within 30 minutes of its birth. That is enormously useful if you happen to live in an area that’s heavily populated by creatures that look at you as a meal.
