Another sign of a depressed cat is that they might start avoiding use of the litter box, and using unusual areas to urinate and defecate. Oftentimes, a cat will select a location that may be of particular importance to them, such as a favorite spot to sleep, or a bedroom of a person who is no longer living in the home.
