It’s a good bet that most people are familiar with the crocodile or its cousin the alligator. These prehistoric-looking creatures popping up in the water in your general vicinity while you are enjoying a swim is definitely an experience you are not likely to forget. Nile crocodiles are found in many areas of Africa and have a particularly bad reputation for being aggressive and generally nasty. We think of alligators and crocodiles as solitary hunters most of the time, but crocodiles will hunt together occasionally and when they do they can take animals as large as hippos and rhinos. Considering that they can grow to a length of 16 feet, meeting up with one of them is bad enough to think about!
