2. Electric Eel

These are creatures you may have seen at the local aquarium or on a television nature programme but definitely do not want to meet in its native habitat. Technically, they are not really eels and are actually a type of knife fish that are found in waters of the Amazon and Orinoco basins of South America. In addition to being scary-looking, these slithery critters are actually very dangerous due to their ability to produce an electric shock that can be as powerful as 500 volts – which is enough to kill an adult human being!
