6. Giant Catfish

Perhaps the word “scary” does not come to mind when you think about catfish, and for the most part you are probably justified. You should know, however, that this catfish is called “giant” for a very good reason. They can grow to be 10 feet long and weigh over 600 pounds! Something that big can be scary anytime it wants to be! Catfish are located in rivers all over the world although the record-breaker – the Mekong giant catfish – is found in Southeast Asia. That particular species can live an impressively long life as well – up to 60 years!
