Another big red flag is raised when you receive documents in the mail advising you that you have opened a new bank account or taken out a loan. As hard as identity thieves work to cover up their illegal activities, sometimes the are not able to completely cover their tracks, and the person whose identity they are using will be notified when their name is used to open account or borrow money.
