#6 Account flags

Financial institutions will flag accounts when they think there is suspicious activity associated with it. If you receive a notification that your account has been flagged, contact the financial institution immediately to find out what caused them to take that action. Don’t fall for e-mail from scammers claiming that your account has been flagged. Financial institutions will usually not send that kind of information via e-mail, although they may send a message directing you to their secure website for more information, but be absolutely certain you are connected to their website and not some fake site set up to steal your information. If you are uncertain, call your financial institution on the telephone.
