10. Qingdao Haiwan Bridge

This is the bridge that connects the city of Qingdao to the Huangdao suburbs in eastern China. It spans the waters of Jiaozhou Bay and at 26.4 miles long, it is currently the longest bridge in the world. It was completed in 2011, required a workforce of 10,000 and four years to complete. It’s construction involved the use of 450,000 tons of steel, 3 million cubic yards of concrete, and was designed to withstand typhoons, earthquakes and being struck by a ship that weighs 300,000 tons.
