Now that laser printers can be found in millions of homes, it’s good to be aware that some of them can emit ultra-tiny particles that can be inhaled. Not every laser printer releases these particles, but research indicates that about 40 percent of them do. Both laser printers and ink jet printers may also release volatile organic compounds, ozone, and other particulates. Carefully research any printer you plan to bring into your home for potential hazards.
