8. Vikings Used To Wear Horned Helmets
A lot of the books, TV shows or even movies depicted the Vikings as fierce warriors who would go to battle wearing horned helmets. However, in reality, they never wore them to battle. The fact is that the area in which Vikings had populated, the horned helmets were present beforehand. The people living there before the Vikings had shown up wearing these helmets during ceremonies. However, the horned helmets were long gone before the Vikings even showed up there.
